Program Overview

Information & Communication Technology have come to be a backbone in today’s world. Their applications are advancing very rapidly into the 21st century through research, development and innovation. There is no place for a professional who does not master the latest information and communication technology applications knowledge in organizational and business practices, especially in an era where most businesses are shifting towards network-based organizations. New and innovative techniques of knowledge, management and learning performances are often tested to facilitate competence development. Yet the future promises more innovations and developments in these directions.

 

Program Design

The Computer Science program that is offered in Cairo is based on the identical program offered in the USA. The master’s degree is a 30-credit program and includes 9 courses. The student has the option to graduate upon fulfillment of the requirements of 9 courses of 3 credits and a 3-credit project, or 8 courses of 3 credits and a 6-credit research paper or thesis with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

 

Program Content

The University of Louisville (UofL) Master of Science in Computer Science with specialization in Telecommunication and Internet Application is intended to provide professionals with the latest concepts, theories, functions, tools, and techniques in cutting-edge subjects related to information technology.

Program Accreditation

The University of Louisville, J.B. Speed Scientific School is accredited by the Computer Science Accreditation Commission of the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board (CSAC/CSAB) as well as the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

 

Practical Information

Location: Regional IT Institute premises, Zamalek, Cairo, Egypt

Duration: 30 credit hours – 18 months

Schedule: Twice or three times a week from 18:00 to 22:00 hrs.

 

Registration Requirements

Completed application form, two recommendation letters, current resume, three passport sized photos, at least 213 International TOEFL score, Engineering or Computer Science Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university. (All documents have to be submitted in the English Language)
